Better Caves is a modification created to improve the initial mining experience in Terraria by adding new underground features and making the caves more open. We hope that it will bring back the feeling of exciting cave exploration and make it easier to access loot :)
Description of Better Caves
Better Caves is the key to an exciting exploration of the underground world of Terraria. Here are a few features that make this experience truly exciting:
Features:
- Three new cave formations:
- Chasm: Straight drop with jagged edges that can be used for climbing and descending.
- Rift: A diagonal "diamond-shaped" cave covering a large area.
- Chamber: Quite rare, can be used to create underground villages, farms and much more.
- Two new types of traps:
- Pressure Traps: Push the player/enemies upward when activated and can be manipulated with a hammer to change direction. Often appear in caves with high ceilings.
- Gravity Traps: Change the gravity of surrounding players until they collide with the ceiling or find a way to stop. Rarely appear in the surrounding area or in the underworld.
- Three new accessories inspired by items from Risk of Rain 2: Found in chests from granite, marble and mushroom biomes, they will add new unique abilities and abilities to your character.
- Natural appearance of platforms in caves: You can now discover platforms naturally in caves, making exploration more convenient and fun.
- Setting the frequency of appearance of caves and traps: You can easily customize the spawn frequency of caves and traps using configuration files.
- Ability to set preferences for traps: If you particularly like traps, you can customize the mod to make even more of them appear!
The Better Caves mod should be compatible with any other mods, but we highly recommend using it in conjunction with the Orchid Mineshaft mod for an even more immersive gaming experience.
